Bayfield got back to winning ways with a comprehensive, if somewhat surprising, victory over Telecom. Losing the toss and being put into bat on a green wicket, Bayfield struggled initially against tight, and often hostile, opening bowling. The support bowlers were not of the same class though, and punishment of the subsequent loose bowling led to good scores for three of Bayfield's batsmen. At last, Bayfield had a reasonable total to defend, and once the opening Telecom batsmen had departed, the exceptionally long tail proceeded to give catching practice to Bayfield's fieldsmen and the match ended thankfully early. Man of the Match - Dave Laing. First Bayfield 50 of the season; batting impetus when really needed; and excellent bowling against the only Telecomn batsmen who offered any sort of a challenge.
